The top 3 reasons why “Low alcoholic cocktails and non alcoholic cocktails” seminar was blast !
The last event by our team in the wonderful surrounding of the “Hollywood arms” cocktail bar in Chelsea has seen an attendance of more than 40 people, with many new faces, new friends and lots of smile at the end of the talk!
I am about to announce the entire live video of the event for those who haven’t attended the event!
In this last workshop I have brought to the attention of the London Bartenders, junior mixologist and future barmen “the importance of serving alcohol responsibly” and what truly matters to me is that our colleagues behind the bar worldwide can understand how much I care and how much I like to spread a message of cocktails where alcohol is not the protagonist!
1- Alcohol reduction is just “more than a trend” :
It’s not big news: with the upcoming NON ALCOHOLIC SPIRITS and LOW ABV aperitifs and bitters, low alcoholic liqueur and alcohol reduced wines and new probiotic drinks like kombucha and kefir, these products on the market are taking more and more room between the busy shelves in bars, restaurants and supermarkets, we have analysed how this “trend” has become a REAL NEED:
We need to understand the market reading customer’s need, families and younger drinkers are turning into LOW ABV choosing brands like EVERLEAF, SEEDLIP and AECORN, just mentioning a few, instead of classic soft drinks like Cokes, Ginger Ales, Lemonades and fruit juices, anding up to something with less sugar content and more useful vitamins for our health
“Reports from a study conducted by the International Wines and Spirits Record, based in the United Kingdom, research for its 2019 “Low- and No-Alcohol Report” suggests the recent “Dry January” movement is a sign that health and wellness trends are “gaining traction across the world …” and “…providing new opportunities for the global beverage alcohol industry.”
2- Low Alcoholic cocktails are the new Big challenge for creators:
Being a good cocktail creator with only 25 ml of spirit is not easy game at all! true story!
Our team showcased 8 cocktails where alcohol was not the protagonist, leaving the importance to the vitamins of kombucha, the energising proteins of Your superfoods Matcha Mix and the mix of “forever beautiful” mix packed with chia seeds, acerola and blueberry in one single product!
The Probiotic health benefits of Kombucha, naturally sparkling fermented tea, was introduced to the public with the brand Leader in UK being one of the very first ones introduced in England in 2003 by its Founder Gary L. introducing to the public the new flavoured “Ginger Sencha” and “china white” , we couldn’t wait to mix those new tasty “champagne of teas” in our cocktails!
It’s been great to see our supporters coming along and delivering the same message of responsible bartending, and while I had to setup my tools, my cocktail list, all the cocktail garnishes and the glassware for the mixed drinks, the microphone swings fast between the hands of Amaury from Alain Milliat premium fruit juices and Gary from “City juice” with his natural sugar cane juice, squeezed fresh in front of the public that has tasted the unique taste of the healthy Caribbean cane juice
3- Cocktails can be enjoyed by all members of family, with these guidelines:
In the hotel bars, families with kids are up to 80% of total occupancy around the whole year, what do we pour?
you can choose if serving the usual things, a coke, a lemonade, a sugar-filled Cocktail or turning page and welcoming my selection of cocktails with superfoods!
There is an interesting study I have carried while spending my last few months in the Ritz hotel, my last full time day job workplace, we didn’t pay enough attention to those young guests, especially those young kids below 16 years old, seeing lack of interest among my colleagues and the family members, too often they asked the same mentioned drinks, without knowing that if they could stop one moment and reflect on how to avoid so much sugar and so many artificial colourants, the solution is just within reach:
4- Announcement – Cocktails and superfoods – our next seminar:
We will be focusing on cocktails without any alcohol, including some particular fruits and vegetables, some plant-based superfoods and better ingredients for the sake of the whole family’s health
My team is committed on a whole month of research through the London’s fruit markets, the health shops, the libraries and the community of bartenders to understand the real needs of our younger customers,
The venue has to be confirmed but the day is announced !
