Hello!! we are back on track with our home-made productions after a good couple of weeks where we have been busy documenting some good food recipes from our family kitchen in Abruzzo, Italy. We have seen some very good stuff with the crumbled cake with ricotta, dark cacao and almonds… made with nonna in her old kitchen! but we come up with some ideas, this time we head to the liquid creativity…
Never stop shaking good drinks!
We have then spent a quick week in Sardinia visiting the family and in a good sunny afternoon we decided that there must be a proper section dedicated to a “good, modern and smart” way to create drinks matching skills also when we travel ! and here is the first creation! probiotic drinks as a base for some cocktails!
What probiotic means for us?
You may have noticed in the last period a very interesting trend! and the addition on the supermarket shelves of these healthy looking beverages, usually coming from the Eastern Europe, the Middle East Asia and other ethnic regions of the world! they are subject to personal taste of course, they can be sometimes a bit sour or acid, but one thing must be said thanks to living bacteria, they help regulate the digestion, the gut. some examples are the Yogurts, Kefirs, and Lassi…
Let’s get fancy with “Lassi”! a base for a cocktail in three steps:
Lassi drink originally comes from India, and it can be described as a fresh drink obtained from fermented yogurt and an addition of water, spices and sometimes fruits… we think that a cocktail can be done with it in three simple steps and less than five minutes. for this recipe we buy a good quality yogurt from the shop, in order to reduce the execution time, rather than brewing our own.
ingredients and cocktail execution process:
Mineral water, Great quality yogurt (we used the local produced yogurt of the brand Arborea), a teaspoon of “super greens” powder, half spoon of caster sugar, and some ice!
- in a mason jar, pour the ingredients: 200 ml mineral water, 2 tablespoons of yogurt and a pinch of sugar to regulate the acidity!
- on side, you should prepare in a different jar your green mix with some water, in this case we have mixed some super greens powder, a dehydrated mix of cucumber, kale, stalk, celery and matcha; you can do the powder at home or just buying from a shop like this (click here). this ingredient that you have just made will adjust the aromatic and colourant part of the drink! you can also use fresh fruits, or spices, or fresh squeezed veggies… at your preference!
- pour the super greens mix just created in the mason jar, add 5 ice cubes and shake well !
We had so much fun shaking this recipe,
and the photography part of it comes with the great styling skills of Marcella that are getting better every day!

We believe the way we drink our cocktails should break the boundaries, going over the classic traditions and rituals of “Friday night booze” , the common sense of “boozy” meaning hidden behind the word “mixology” is just not the only meaning of a wonderful world of discovery and creativity that comes alongside with the bartender skills! we must be able to think sustainable, to think to those who stay healthy, who like to enjoy a good mix ! maybe giving to it a different vision! we would like to hear from you! give us your feedback and we Weill continue shaking healthy and discover more about a new era of drinking !
