Once upon a time… this morning!! 🙄 we received the shopping, delivered at the front door from the grocery shop and it was loaded with berries, avocados, chia seeds and with dairy free yogurt ! ok, being honest, all of these were purchased on purpose!! An unusual idea popped on my mind!!
Yes!! we have decided to turn the mixology skills and the usual boring ingredients of my usual crafted cocktails, with others, more original, more healthy, more “SUPER” !!
Superfoods and Veggie based meals are ordinary routine here, but we can’t tell we are 100% vegan yet. Anyway we are thinking to be more creative in what we cook and what we shake, with these unusual unexpected components. Trends are running faster and faster, so why not creating some recipes, present them to the audience (you) maybe having some fun snapping some pics and see if you guys are keen to replicate them??
Please allow me… I’d like to spent few notes about the so called “superfoods”:
it is very important to clarify that there is not a codified, official meaning of those, but nowadays this seems to be one of the most popular and researched topics when it comes to healthy and trendy cooking style, but I’d like to report a quote from the pages where I have lately studied from: “Superfoods don’t have their own food group,” said Despina Hyde, a registered dietician with the weight management program at New York University’s Langone Medical Center. “As a dietician, I think ‘superfood’ is more of a marketing term for foods that have health benefits.” (source https://www.livescience.com/34693-superfoods.html) .
I certainly agree with this quote, and I am very honest: being a lover of marketing and trends, I cannot escape of making my very own cocktail today based exclusively by these incredibly healthy goodness and share it with the world !
this drink is named:
The “Super cocktail ‘o clock”
Some info about each superfood included in the recipe:
Kale: just a garnish, instead of the classic mint sprig, let’s play different with this cocktail!
Chia seeds: are those who will lead you very often to the toilet!! make sure to buy enough toilet roll though, chia seeds are rich in minerals such as calcium and magnesium and trace elements such as manganese, which helps make enzymes.
